what is the Children Congress Alumni? and When is it?
I remember my mom saying something about it and I think it was when I was supposed to be at camp. I am still wondering what it is. Thank you for any information you have!
Children's Congress Alumni are people who participated in past Children's Congress's. The JDRF Children's Congress is held every two years in Washington DC. Kids from the ages of 4-17 apply to be delegates. JDRF selects 150 kids from the United States to come to Washington DC and talk to their Senators and Representatives about diabetes and the need to provide money for diabetes research. I believe you can only be a delegate once. It is a lot of fun. My daughter was a delegate for the state of Washington in 2007. She thought it was an amazing experience.
Back in 2003 I went to D.C. as a delegate and it was absolutely amazing. If you have a chance to go, I suggest taking it, because you can learn a lot from the experience.
Hi
We were the ChairFamily of CC 2005. Lauren was a delegate in 03 as well. She loved the experience and still talks about it. She learned so much from it, and hopes to go to college in DC some day!
