  • Hi Everyone

I started a support network at my school, Umass Amherst, last year and it has actually now turned into a non-profit organization that is continuing to grow. College Diabetes Network helps to create support networks on campuses and provides many other supports and services to students and its chapters. Check out our website for more detailed information and to see what we offer!  www.collegediabetesnetwork.org .

CDN has made  a huge difference in my life and has truly made living with T1 in college so much easier to handle! Otherwise i wouldnt be bugging all of you to check out CDN and make chapters at your own schools :)  Its similar to Juvenation but in person!

If your interested email me at croth@collegediabetesnetwork.org and i can give you more information and help you start your group (or register your already existing group!). All of our chapters get their own webpage to help share information- so even if you already have a group- register with us!

    Hope to hear from everyone!

My tip: Find an activity outside of school that has no connections to your education. It may seem odd, but to have the option to partake in something that is completely seperate from school is refreshing. For me, it's kayaking. Although I can only do it during the spring and summer, it clears my head completely. Just make sure you have some snacks in your 'yak so you don't get into trouble! And find a 'yaking buddy so you don't have to paddle alone :-)
