Anyone having a hard time counting carbs for ethinic foods? I love Indian food but have stayed away since my Rx, as it is impossible to calculate carbs at an Indian restaurant or when you make it at home. Anyone have any suggestions?
Get the calorie king book. Even if you cannot find the exact dish in the book, which you probably won't, it has all the information you need. It will probably be the sauces that prove the hardest to calculate and which will be your greatest enemy. Usually they're very sugary. Good luck!

Elie's advice is good. Indian and Italian food always skyrocket my blood sugar.
I usually take a couple extra units more than the estimated carb count. Then test an hour later and use my pump's bolus wizard to calculate if I need more insulin right away. Then usually check a couple hours later to correct any additional highs. The last time I had a curry it took like 12 units of insulin (typical meal for me is 5-6). Totally worth it though.
