  • So I started going to the gym last week.

I start with 2 miles on the elliptical machine and then do about an hour on the weight machines. I used to hate going to the gym it was such an awful thing when I was younger but now, it is a lot of fun. I meet up with one of my friends from my last job, we chat a little but then get back to work. lol.

What is your routine at the gym?

She generally gave herself very good advice, (though she very seldom followed it). Lewis Carroll

  • I mostly just lift, which is itself a great cardio workout. I'm on a 5-day split:

    Day 1: Legs

    Day 2: Chest

    Day 3: Back

    Day 4: Shoulders

    Day 5: Arms

I do abs at the end of most workouts. Sometimes I do a little cardio at the end.

    Sometimes I switch to a 4-day split:

    Day 1: Legs

    Day 2: Chest/Triceps

    Day 3: Back/Biceps

    Day 4: Arms

I vary my workouts quite a bit, but generally speaking I start out with compound movements (e.g. bench press, squats, deadlifts, barbell rows) and move into isolation work with dumbbells and sometimes cables.

When I'm cutting, I add in some High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), usually tabata intervals with various bodyweight exercises like jump rope, burpees. I will also do low intensity cardio when I have time and add in extra supersets into my lifting routine.

Sorry for the late response! Better late than never I guess haha
