Hello, My 5 year old son was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and I am trying so hard to find "free"(under 5 carbs) snacks for him to eat between meals.
If anyone has any suggestions for me I would really appreciate it! Thx
I find String Cheese and Eggs are good fillers between meals.
When my 12 yr old was diagnosed, we survived on beef jerky. I wish I had taken stock out in this product. But, it was a great no carb snack. She also loved string cheese, the yellow and white cheddar twist. Also, she ate boiled eggs. Sugar Free jello was also something she ate.
Blessings on this new phase of your life. If I think of other carb free snacks, I'll let you know.
We too do the string cheese and sugar free jello. Pork rinds for a crunchy and salty snack are good if needed. Pickles, lunch meat, and celery work too.
I can't remember the name but there was a low carb yogurt that was only 3 total grams of carbs that my daughter liked for awhile.. Also bacon, sausage, and meats do not have many carbs in them.
