Hello
My name is Adele and I live in Coventry, England. I am 38 and have had diabetes since I was 17. This website looks great, a US friend introduced me. There is nothing like this in England!
I think diabetes is very different in England, we don't have diabetes camps, (which sound like great fun), our blood sugar measurements are different and very few people are on pumps. I am generally well controlled but my husband has got me out of a sticky situation on many occasions and I owe a lot to him! I don't seem to get any warning whatsoever until I am around 2mmol/litre.
I love chatting so stop by and say hi!
Adele xx
Adele,
I am always interested to learn how different people and different regions treat this disease. You were diagnosed just a bit after I was - so the timeline will be the same but it sounds like the approaches have quite some number of differences – we did both get the hypo-unawareness, though...
Please sound off and chime in, I expect a lot of us would love to hear more from you!
Cheers!
