  • Hi kate! My name's Marieke, I'm 12 and was just recently diagnosed with diabetes on the 20th. I hope you don't mind my asking, but was it hard for you to understand what you had to do daily when you were 5?

  • Hello, I'm Travis. I've been a T1 since I was 2, which was 26 years ago prettymuch. I'm kinda happy I was dx'ed at so young because I never had to really adjust to a new lifestyle. I'm sure being 12, you have to change a lot of your routines.

    T1 since age 2

  • Hello Kate, I was 15 when I was diagnosed with diabetes. I am a T1. I have had a lot of up's and down's but I am now 27.

    I agree Travis. I was diagnosed at age 5, I'm 31 now.

  • Hi guys,

I'm Megan and I was diagnosed when I was 6. I'm 23 now, so it's been 17 years. I am with Travis, all I remember of my life "pre-diabtetes" was my 4th birthday cake, cuz it had a gum-drop rainbow on it. I can't imagine how frustrating and confusing all this must be and if  "we" as the collective diabetic community can do anything to help, just ask!

  • Hey Kate!

Whenever you wanna jut chat it up or have questions, feel free to shoot em my way! I am always online with school and such, and always glad to talk/help a fellow T1er!

I was diagnosed at age 10, whch wasnt too bad, as I had not really had the need or want for alot of sweets and such back when I was that age, although it took some time for me to readjust to things, as Im sure you know... Maybe thats why I became obsessed with every aspect of Halloween outside of the Trick R Treating
