I'm the parent of ridiculously healthy 11 year old girl who happens to be a type 1 diabetic. I am also a Mac user who left Microsoft products behind years ago, and have been happy ever since....until now. I can't be the only Minimed customer who finds their lack of support for Apple products/software a huge PITA. I have come here in hopes of finding enough like-minded people to start an effective campaign to convince Medtronic Inc. that it is in their own best interests to include the open source and Mac world in their plans. Will you join me? Thanks.
Mac user myself and was a little bummed about them not supporting MAC. Was even more bummed that my MacBook Pro with Windows 7 on VMWare was not supported either. Sigh...
working to cure diabetes.
I ran Parallels/Win2K and was able to use the Carelink software, albeit very inconsistently, but lately (w/the USB stick link) it takes several tries to get the pump to start loading, and then it invariably hangs up. I really don't understand why they just don't release the software so that one could use it locally, as I'm pretty sure a good bit of the problem has to do with it being Web based.
I'm running a fairly old version of Parallels, so I thought perhaps an upgrade might help the situation, but gave up on that when I saw how customer unfriendly Parallels has become.
I can't say I'm surprised re your experience......was it a Windows 7 issue?
But, regardless of the individual issues, it seems to me Medtronic could do a better job. The really are are technology company more than a bio lab, and so it's surprising they don't do better, IMHO.
So, have any idea how one sets up an online petition?
