Well I am out of the hospital a little over 24 hours. Slept about an hour or so, a nap! Trying to unwind clear my head!!!! Wow I can't believe I lost over 20 lbs.!!!! From 6 ft a 171 lbs. to under 150!!!!! Talk about skinny!!!!! I can see every bone in my body!!!! Not very pretty. LOL but still eating!!! Funny when this happened I never knew just how something so everyday , so basic, And I am not kidding how important!!!!! passing gas!!!! the silly fart!!!!!! Can't tell you how happy after 2 weeks plus of no solid food my friend the fart was!!!!!! Let's start here.. Abdominal surgery, removing 12 inches of small bowel, resection. Then a week after that just as I am getting back to solid food and my friend the fart!!! LOL They won't feed anything till you do!!!! also my 1st bowel moment!!! And the 1st of the New Year!!!! Oh, yea I am out of here!!!!!! My 1st oral pain meds! so out of here I thought!!!
Then in just 30 mins I guess you can say I took a hard turn, not much fun let me tell you!!!! The wrong way!!!!
Pain!!!!!! like you can't even imagine!!!!! Worse in my life!!!!!! Started to throw up!!!! Oh God Nooooooooo! Sorry tear fog!!!! OK better on with the adventure!!! LOL
This how it seemed to go for me! Nurse calling Dr.! Nurse with morphine, x-rays!!!!!! Pain better still hurting pretty good, more pain med!! Ok better..... Dr.'s Mr Johnson yes? We found fluid in the x-rays, not sure where it came from!!! We need to take you back in for a look!!!!! Oh great I bet this is going to really hurt!!!!! Now comes as best as I can remember!!!! Going into surgery, signing OK blood transf, stoma placment??? etc..... Out!!!!!!!
Waking up!!! Mr. Johnson!!!! Mr. Johnson Do you know where you are at!???? Yes I am at The VA Hospital!!! Good That's real good!!!! Listen carefully!!! can you do that?? Yes I can!!! OK Good!!! They removed a 1 liter blood clot! Do you understand? Yes! still a little fuzzy! Mr Johnson they also gave you 2 liters of blood!!! Understand??? Yes!!! Great!!! We are taking you to ICU!!! Oh poo I have been there before!!! My very 1st overnite in this same VA Hospital When I was dx'ed Type 1 Diabetic!!!!! Less than 4 years ago!!!!! Bs 672, a1c 13/2, DKA , 52 year oldman!!!!
That is why I am writing here!!!!! My Diabetes!!!!!!!!! Tear fog! OK
Back to the clearing of mind!!!!!
OK I am now laying in ICU!!! Tubes, wires, coming from all over me and in me, graphs on screens, o2, heart rate etc...!!! OH wow just a funny thought I love laughing!!! I think I now know how a borg must feel ROFLMAO!!!!!! I am such a geek LOLDon't know why that popped into my head but it sure made me crack up!!!!!! Felt so Good!!!!
Back to my gas story!!! LOL
The Dr.'s come in ICU and check to make sure I understand What has happened!!! Opened up, found 1 liter blood clot, couldn't find a leak!, 2 liters of blood, lot's of scar tissue from 1 st surgery! and that it from what I remember!
Drifting off.... Waking up. It's a good thing!!! LOL Mr Johnson I am you're ICU Nurse how do you feel?? Oh pretty good! Any pain??? Well yes feels like I've been cut open twice actually!!! LOL Kid you not!! I can take care that!!! he said anything else Ice chips? (another very special friend!!!) Ice chips!!!! me using swab thing brushing my lips cold water running down my throat 1 dip the ice chips got sucked up just before going down! 2nd dip I had promise not to swallow!!!! ( More on that later LOL)
Cold water running down feels so good! back to the very edge of my throat!!!! and one drop! Perfect I kept my promise drifting off!!!! Waking up! Mr.Johnson we are taking out of ICU. New bed, new room fresh from MICU!!!! Yea me! And that stupid tube in my nose the NG line my Foe!!!! I hate him!!!!!
But don't fret my gas friend is coming to help save me! LOL
The whole time in the hospital so far, they are pumping me out ! Not very fun!!!!
At this time I did a little stock! 1st surgery, removed 12 inches, put back together, had bowel movement, removed blood clot with 2nd opening, I am still here Kool!!!

opps! Almost forgot something, need to write down! just before the turn I had a high white blood cell count they were trying to figure! right after the removal of the clot, my cell count started to come down! Auto-imunne system go figure! LOL
