Someday, 'ex-diabetic' will be just as much a part of us as 'diabetic' is right now... But in the mean time I plan to blog about that road there :)

The Water Experiment: Day 1/Alyssa: HYDRATED

I've got to write this one up quick, I've got school in the morning and have to get to bed :)

There have been a few questions about how long this experiment will run. As of tonight, I plan to watch my blood sugars 2 days hydrated and 2 days with less water during the week, and 2 days hydrated and 2 days with less water over the weekends. Everyone else can pick and choose how long they want to participate; I may to a second trial when I finish up with this week.

In mg/dL, my blood sugars today, HYDRATED with 126 oz. out water have been:
331          332          94          99          64         120          184          197          252          226
One reading read 143, however this was invalid as when I washed my hands and tested again, I was actually 120. Therefore it is not included in today's blood sugars.

The main difference between yesterday's and today's blood sugars is I got fed up with constantly being 200-300+ every single time I tested, so I ran my blood sugars down :) I ran for 100 minutes today, 5.6 miles, and because this has obviously played such a large part in my blood sugars I will continue running this each day I record my blood sugars. I will also redo yesterday's experiment as I did not run yesterday. The run actually proved to be good for my blood sugars as I've been mostly below 200; I do, however, have a blister on my foot now. :)

Average for today is: 189 (.9) mg/dL

Better than yesterday :)

That's all I've got for today's update! But glad to see you all trying the Water Experiment, too. Hope it turns out well!
I'll update it tomorrow, hopefully with graphs ;),
Alyssa

NOTE: today's Water Experiment results will also be counted towards weekend data as I did not have school today, and therefore was less active than I usually am at school :)
