What the heck?!?!?!?!

  • Comments 2

For like two weeks now by blood sugar has been high. I mean at first it was in the 300's and 400's. Now it is in the 200's. I know it's not my hormones. So I don't know why my blood sugars are like this. Does anybody have any suggestions?

  • dbtc483,

I have several suggestions.  The first of which is to be in close and nearly constant contact with your doctor as you get this under control.  Second, while you are waiting for your doctor to call you back, test for keytones and make sure you are getting plenty of fluids.  The obvious answer to lowering blood sugar will be to give insulin but how much and how often are things that none of us will be able to answer and you will likely feel low going down into a normal range since your sugars have been elevated for so long.  I think it is reasonable to expect that it may be a little painful easing yourself back into a lower range so be patient and test a lot as you go...

I am curious to know how you are doing as you get this handled so please do keep us posted!

    Good luck!

    A-D

  • Testing ketones and lots of fluids for sure!  God forbid, but do you think maybe that you have a little cold or bug or infection or something going on?  Maybe a visit to your primary care physician wouldn't be uncalled for?  Wish you the best sweetheart (hope its ok to call you that)!
