A Diabetic Holiday!

It happened again... I always wait to shop for Christmas presents until the last possible minute. For the past few days I have been running around the outlets like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to scramble together awesome last minute gifts for my family. As I was about to get into a fight with a woman over a size small cashmere sweater at JCrew, I realized my hands were shaky, my palms were sweaty, and my head felt completly foggy. A low blood sugar. I stumbled out of the store onto a cold bench and whipped out my trusty purple meter. I fumbled over the lancet as it pierced my finger and drew blood. Beep. 40. It hit me almost a sudden that it was hard to register this low number. I sat on the bench for a few minutes unable to comprehend that I was truly low. Finally, I made me way to the vending machine (a coke cost $2! stupid lows haha) angered over the fact I had a hard time inserting my $2 into the tiny slot. I wave of relief washed over me as I grabbed the coke and let the sugary taste explode down my throat. All I have to say is thank god for coke! :) It's funny how a low can hit you at the wierdest times. Unfortunatly I lost my battle for the sweater, and the evil woman who won that fantastic purchase gave me a smug smile on her way out of the store. Better luck next time!
  • Sorry about the low. I hate being low when I am out shopping that is the worst. 2 bucks for a coke ouch haha... As far as the woman winning your sweater war that stinks I am sure you found something better! I hope if not keep looking hahaha
