Hello Juvenators!
Last week JDRF Advocacy Volunteers and DOCers (Diabetes Online Community) from all over the country, went to our nations capital for the 2010 JDRF Government Day to learn about upcoming legislation efforts and what resources are available to them.
To keep the momentum going I have compiled a list of 5 things that YOU CAN DO to advocate in your area!
1. Contact your representatives and senators to encourage them to sign the letter to the FDA commissioner to expedite outpatient trials of the artificial pancreas project. (Below are preformated letters you can download and print).
2. Promise to Remember Me Campaign - The Promise Campaign is a coordinated effort to schedule and complete as many meetings as possible between representatives and senators and their constituents in their local districts.
3. Children’s Congress - JDRF's Children's Congress help Members of Congress understand what life with type 1 diabetes is like and why research to find the cure for diabetes and its complications is so critical.
4. Tell Your Story - By telling your story you give a small glimpse of what it is like to live with diabetes on a daily basis. Raise your voice and be heard!
5. Type 1 Talk - Host or Join a diabetes meetup in your area! Build a stronger diabetes community both online and offline!
JDRF Government Day is behind us but that doesn’t mean we stop advocating for a cure. We all need to unite and raise our voices together!

Have a great weekend!

I tried to use the link to contact my senator. The link said that I could not comment because of my Zip code. What is up with that?
