So Frustrated

  • Comments 3

So you know how normal people have children... i want to be one of those normal people... I want to not know that i am pregnant and be so surprized and happy when i take that pregnancy test and it is positive. But no i am diffrent. It is actually kind of funny.. When my sister got married and found out that she had to have help having babies she started having to have tests and pills and now shots to try to have a baby. I felt so sorry for her knowing she would have to struggle and plan and be pricise and not even get to enjoy the excitement of it all.... I guess now i am in the same boat.. Only it effects eveything i do not just having a baby.. and on my sister hand when and if she has this little bouncing baby that all her problem is.. i have to worry about passing my curse off to something so precious and undiserving....

You know i think i would be better with htis maybe if i had gotten it when i was little. i would never had known anything else what GOOD cake tasted like or icecreme.. ya sure they have sugar fee stuff but it doesn't taste the same..... Or maybe if i had gotten this when i was 30 or 40 so i could have lived my life and not had to worry about all the stupid little things. Then maybe i could have had the 4 kids that i have always wanted but now seem so hard to get. I will be lucky to even get one child.

There are day when i am completly fine with being a diebetic and other i wish this stupid freaking disease never excisted... Like i said in my bio and my first blog no one around me has this.... I am completly alone on this

LIFE SUCKS

  • i was dx when i was 6...i KNOW what good cake and ice cream taste like. i don't eat sugar-free, i don't eat "diabetic-friendly" things. i eat the real thing, no substitutions.

age of dx does not determine what you can't or can eat. you do. you learn how to adjust your insulin dose for what you're eating, and you learn to balance. it teaches you skills you need to get by in life, that a majority of people don't understand or learn in their lifetime.

you CAN have kids as a diabetic, but yes it can be harder. it's not impossible. it takes work but the chances of your child being diabetic is only slightly higher than your sister's, your friend's or your co-worker's. it shouldn't prevent you from having a child, and your diabetes shouldn't either.

being a diabetic takes strength. it's not a disease for the weak. you need to find that strength in yourself and use it. whether the people around you understand what you're going through or not, it doesn't matter. you need to find your own strength to deal with it, you don't need to rely on someone else's. you'll have down days, but the good days will be greater and happier.

  • I am one of the later ones. 52 when dx'ed and my heart goes out to you. NOBODY should have this!!!!!!!!!! Here's all I can offer

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>HUG<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

  • Wow!  You took the words right out of my mouth!  I am in the same boat...daignosed 2yrs ago at age 26 and hoping to get pregnant in the next 6 months.  Being diabetic changes so many things and I don't think that a lot of people understand that.  And to top it all off, it never goes away!  I think that was the hardest part for me to deal with....the difinitive nature of it all.  So glad there are others out there like me...you are not alone!  :)
