I can’t believe that I am already typing a follow up to my post earlier this morning… and I am getting chills of excitement doing it! All of your effort and support just paid off!!! The multi-year renewal of he Special Diabetes Program (SDP), a federal funding stream specific to type 1 research, was just approved in the House and as mentioned earlier today, passed the Senate last night. This translates your JDRF Advocacy efforts into $150 million worth of type 1 research per year until 2013. So many of us have, first hand, experienced the benefits of improved diabetes management due to research. The renewal of the SDP means that we can continue to look forward to improved lives for those in the type 1 community and continue full steam ahead towards a cure.THANKS AGAIN, we couldn’t have done it WITHOUT YOU!!!

Thank you to all the advocates that worked so hard with calls and meetings to let our legislators know that funding Type 1 diabetes research is imperative.
And thank you to our phenomenal GR staff in DC. You are the greatest and we are so fortunate to have you working with us towards a cure!

This is great news. Thanks Hasan!
Great job to all involved. Congratulations!!!!
