My vote goes to the "Freestyle Lite." I just got one of these and love the way you can push a button in order to illuminate the test strip and THEN after it gets the reading the illumination switches to back light the display. It's like magic and I love it. I also like its small size and 4 reminder alarms. But I especially like that you can test in the dark. My vote goes to the "Freestyle Lite."
Cast your vote for your favorite :coolest" glucometer and why.
Hey, come on, is there really a candy bar worth dying for?
Act always as if the future of the Universe depended on what you did, while laughing at yourself for thinking that whatever you do makes any difference.

Only know one!!! Accu-Chek Aviva, but want a Nano!!!!!
Freestyle Lite fo sho.
For all the reasons you said. And the fact that it doesn't start counting down until it has enough blood. (coughONETOUCHcough)
I have an AccuCheck Compact Plus, and I love not having to carry test strips or a lancing device. The unit actually puts out the test strip from the drump, and the device lances my finger, its so easy.
I LOVE the One-Touch Ultra-Mini. It's so small and comes in several cool colors (purple's my favorite!)
OneTouch UltraSmart....I longer have to go to my endo, apologize for not using a manual logbook and present him with random bloodsugar tests on pieces of paper. now he gets the date, time, bg level, health issues, excerise info, etc all on the machine cuz it does it pretty much automatically(minus the health/excerise checks).
i looooooooove my accu-chek aviva nano :D
One Touch Ultra. Works simply, put strip in , put on blood, get result. Nothing fancy. I take the very accurate numbers it gives me, and interpret and store them myself.
I too enjoy my Freestyle Lite for all the reasons you stated as well as the fact that I've had it since diagnosis and have never had a problem with it. Oh, and I love the cap for the lancing device that allows you to test on your forearms... I hhhaaaaatttteeee pricking my fingers.
i want one that sings and dances... and makes me dinner and does my homework... is there one of those yet? there probably is and i just don't know it.
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
I believe that's known as a happy Mom! :)
I want one that consoles/cheers me. You know, non-judgemental.
"Um, you're 203, but that's okay! I still love you!"
"Guess what time it is.... ICE CREAM TIME! You're 67!"
"107! You did a good job today, Kim. I'm proud of your effort. I would high-five you, but I have no arms."
I would name him George.

Kim,
That's not as silly as it sounds: A "talking" glucometer basically designed to make testing fun ... especially for young children. I think it would be a rather clever and useful invention. Why don't you design and patent it?
Paul
Heh... if I knew how to do that, I might. :)
