Katie, I am looking into getting a CGM. I currently have a minimed pump, so I am looking at their CGM, and am also looking at the dexcom 7 +. I see that you used to have the MM and now have a dexcom-any reasoning why? From what I'm reading, it seems more people have the dexcom, and they really seem to like it...I would love some insight from someone who has tried them both, understanding that everyone is different.

I, too have a son who was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 2. Now he is 5. I am from India, and suprisingly i don't know anything about pumps. Katie, Hi there. I was reading your bio and my mother was diagnosed with Type 1 when she was 13 years old and then I was diagnosed with Type when I was 11. I just began volunteering for the JDRF, and I've been asking myself why I waited so long. Its good to see that you are so involved. My mother was there to take care of me and supported me, but she pretended that the disease was not there. She is gettting more involved as the years go by, but it is nice to see families involvement!

Hey Katie, Thanks for the words of encouragement. I really needed it these days. It's good to know that you have a place to go where other people really do know what you are going through. We are geared up for this Saturday, when we are participating in our first Walk for a Cure. We have over 30 people that joined our team and have raised over $350. It should be a great time.
